Cincinnati Museum Center: Holiday Junction featuring Brickopolis

  • Cincinnati Museum Center 1301 Western Avenue Cincinnati, OH, 45203 United States (map)

Each year, families make Cincinnati Museum Center the place for their holiday traditions. This holiday season, wonder, joy and merriment will cover 12,000 square feet of CMC’s special exhibition gallery in Holiday Junction featuring Brickopolis. Fan favorites like the Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends, the Super-O interactive layout and garden railway trains will return this year. In addition to a variety of train layouts of different sizes and themes, the riding train will be back, letting riders chug along through a winter wonderland.

In addition to favorites from holidays past, Holiday Junction featuring Brickopolis will include a blizzard of bricks crafted into custom LEGO creations courtesy of the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana LEGO Users Group (OKILUG). From floor to ceiling, 1,800 square feet of LEGO landscapes will feature motorized trains, whimsical scenes with local flavor and a merry amount of surprises tucked into every pip of their environment.

And, of course, Santa will arrive Friday, November 24, ready to listen to the wish lists of kids big and small.

The Duke Energy Holiday Trains will not be on display this season. As crews near the completion of a new gallery for the trains, the 71-year-old track is being carefully disassembled in preparation for the move into the new gallery. The Duke Energy Holiday Trains will reopen in their new gallery for the 2018 holiday season.
